Who I Am
My name is Candice Evans, and I’m a Registered Counselling Therapist (RCT-C) passionate about helping people navigate life’s storms and discover the strength that lives behind the clouds. With over a decade of academic training and counselling experience, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside individuals and families through their most challenging — and transformative — moments.
I believe in meeting you exactly where you are. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, trauma, grief, depression, or relationship conflict, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your experiences and begin the journey of healing and personal growth.
My Approach to Counselling
Life is complicated — counselling helps.
In therapy, we process the hard stuff: anger, anxiety, fear, grief, helplessness, and everything in between. My approach is grounded in cognitive therapy, meaning we’ll explore how you think — not just what you think. Through metacognition (learning to think about your thoughts), clients gain insight into their patterns and begin to shift them in powerful, sustainable ways.
In our sessions, we set goals, build emotional tools, challenge unhelpful thought habits, and grow your confidence and sense of self. The ultimate aim is not just to cope — but to thrive, even through adversity. As Marcus Aurelius said, "What stands in the way becomes the way."

Why I Do This Work
I became a counsellor because I believe in the strength of the human spirit — even when it’s hidden beneath pain. Life is full of challenges, and I know how overwhelming it can feel to navigate those moments alone. I’ve always been drawn to the quiet power of listening, the kind that helps someone feel seen for the first time in a long time.
Counselling is not about giving advice — it’s about creating a safe space where people can show up exactly as they are and begin to reconnect with themselves. I’m here to walk beside my clients through their darkest moments, to sit with them in their questions, and to gently help them find their way back to clarity, confidence, and hope.
To me, healing isn’t about fixing something broken. It’s about rediscovering what’s always been within you — and learning to trust it again.
My Core Values
Compassion
Every story deserves to be heard with empathy and without judgment. I hold space for your experiences — the joyful, the painful, and everything in between.
Trust
A safe, confidential environment is the foundation of meaningful therapy. I honor your vulnerability by ensuring your voice is respected and protected.
Growth
Healing doesn’t happen overnight. I walk alongside you as you explore your past, make sense of your present, and move toward a more empowered future — one step at a time.
Empowerment
You already hold strength within you. My role is to help you uncover it, build insight, and develop tools that support resilience and self-trust.
Collaboration
Counselling is a partnership. Your input, feedback, and goals shape the direction we take — because your healing journey should always belong to you.
Insight
Understanding the way we think is a powerful catalyst for change. Through reflection and metacognitive techniques, I help clients explore their thought patterns and develop new, healthier perspectives.
